MWC 2013: 820-like
The Nokia?Lumia 720 is the new cheaper Nokia Lumia 820. That's really the main take away from the announcement of the Lumia 720 at Mobile World Congress.?
Of course there are differences, the Lumia 720 isn't as powerful, doesn't have as bigger battery, nor LTE capabilities, but for a lot of people that probably won't really matter. In fact you could easily see the 720 as a simply update to the Lumia 800, the first Lumia phone Nokia announced in 2011.
Either way there is lot to like if you are looking for a good starting place and a phone that will far outshine the cheap budget Android handsets in the same category.?
The key takeaways here are the thin design, the lovely crisp 4.3-inch screen and the optional wireless charging clip on case so you can use it with the array of other Lumia accessories and dig the need to worry about plugging stuff in.?
A step up from the Lumia 710, the Nokia 720 is nuzzled in between the Lumia 620 and Lumia 820, featuring a 4.3-inch display, 1GHz dual-core processor, 512MB of RAM, 8GB of storage, and expandable memory.?
Nokia however don't want you to worry about any of those cool features and instead focus on the shinny camera around the back.?
Packing a 6.7 megapixel sensor, an f1.9 Carl Zeiss lens, and all the usual Nokia apps like Panorama and Cimenagraph that let you add moving elements to your photos, the camera's capabilities in the quick snapping that we did in the poor light on the Nokia stand at Mobile World Congress was really good.?
This might not be a phone that screams out at those looking for the latest and greatest, but for those on a tight budget, this looks good. We liked the Nokia Lumia 620?a lot at Pocket-lint and this only improves on that.?
