By Tia GhoseLiveScience Human colonization caused the extinction of more than 1,000 bird species thousands of years ago on the Pacific Islands, scientists now say.Among the lost species were large waterfowl from Hawaii known as moa-nalos and a massive game bird from New Caledonian called the Sylviornis, which weighed about 66 pounds (30 kilograms).But flying birds were driven to extinction as well...
