During the PS4 event last week we got our first look at four exclusive titles coming from three very prestigious Sony studios. The question is, what are the rest of the Sony studios up to? According to Sony’s President of Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida they’re all working on their own PS4 title. All of them.
Now, when you think about it, that’s a lot of studios working on a lot of new titles. They’re not necessarily new IP’s, but the possibilities are truly exciting. Yoshida was asked, “Is it fair to say that all of the first-party studios are working on PS4 games?”, to which he answered “Is it fair or not fair? It is fair to say.”
This confirms a few things that have been rumoured for quite some time now. One of the most exciting confirmations is that Naughty Dog’s second studio, the one not working on The Last of Us, is hard at work on a PS4 title (Maybe Uncharted 4?). Media Molecule showed off some impressive tech during a demo at the PS4 event, but what exactly are they using it for? Could Gran Turismo 6 be in the works at Polyphony Digital?
No one is exactly sure, but at least we know of four rather big titles already. Killzone: Shadow Fall is in development at Guerrilla Games, while Sucker Punch is currently working on InFamous: Second Son. Motorstorm developers Evolution debuted their new IP Drive Club while Sony Computer Entertainment Japan wowed the audience with their stylised platformer Knack.
There are a lot of Sony studios working on a strong line-up of first-party titles. What are you most excited to see announced?
