Telltale Teases More Walking Dead Before Season Two

There is no disputing that Telltale’s The Walking Dead was one of the highlights of last year, delivering a deeply emotional and personal story over five episodes that spanned nearly half the year. We already know Telltale is prepping Season 2 for this year, but fans (like me) might not have to wait until then to get another doses of the gripping undead action.

Writer Gary Whitta teased yesterday that the studio was hard at work on more Walking Dead content that was not part of Season 2, suggesting that fans might have something extra to help them wait for the next chapter in their story.

“I can tell you what you already know, which is season two is coming. There’s not much to say because it is really very early…it’s a way off. But, knowing that it’s a way off, and knowing that people are hungry for more Walking Dead…there may very well be more Walking Dead from Telltale before season two. We may have a little something extra for you between season one and two.”

Now while this sounds like a dream come true, it could also be bad news. More Walking Dead to help the wait for Season 2 is welcome, but seeing the words “it’s a way off,” makes me worried about when Season 2 will actually release. It has been rumoured to start around the middle of this year, but with this additional content intended to make the wait easier we could very well be staring at an imminent delay.

Regardless, I can’t wait to see where Telltale takes us during their next tale, especially after the climatic ending of the first season.
