Prime Interest .. Mortgage rates, the cost of buying a U.S. home is now just shy of 4.5% .. Just three months ago they were a full percentage point lower .. That was about the time Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke threatened to taper off his quantitative easing (QE) bond buying .. Then there are all the funds that swooped in to buy cheap foreclosed houses & turn them into rental properties .. IPOs are dumping inventory on the middle class ..
