Match The Song To A Game: DmC Feb 1st 2013, 06:45 Believe it or not, I actually had several songs in mind which could have been the subject of this week’s MTSTAG but faced with multiple options which illicit equal aural satisfaction from the listener, my brain rebuked responsibility and chose to instead do the opposite and place a game in front of you. We’ve done this before so it’s nothing new really. Instead of a song, we’re giving you a game and all you need to do is suggest a song that would be perfect for the game. This week’s game is DmC: Devil May Cry. Love it or hate it, the game is fun to play and has a glorious visual style accompanied by some sublime level design. There’s also a banging soundtrack steeped in enough metal to give you lead poisoning so we’ve decided to slap some constraints on the song’s you may suggest. You aren’t allowed to suggest anything close to heavy metal. In fact the further away from it you are the more eGamer points you’ll earn (these are rewards-based incentive points redeemable at your nearest participating video store). So to sum it all up. Give us a song that fits in with Ninja Theory’s DmC and keep it like our petrol – free of heavy metals and expensive so that means no Ke$ha.

BioShock Infinite Trailer Takes To The Skies Feb 1st 2013, 06:00 Irrational Games has dropped a brand new trailer for their upcoming BioShock Infinite, entitled ‘City in the Sky’. The trailer focuses on the shooter’s surreal setting of Columbia, which is an airborne utopia of sorts, under the rule of a religious fanatic. Quite a nice contrast to the dystopian, godless world of Rapture, from the first BioShock. You’ll also get a glimpse of the now fully covered Elizabeth as Irrational attempts to put more and more of her skin under wraps. There’s even some gameplay, which admittedly broke the flow of the trailer but was a welcome addition nonetheless. Are you as excited for BioShock Infinite as Rudolf is we are?

Feb 1st 2013, 03:38 Yesterday, Sony jumped onto their official PlayStation youtube page and released a cryptic video detailing a major reveal forthcoming on February 20th. The video above showcases several shapes that are recognizable as part of the PlayStation brand and all point to signs of a huge announcement in the works. It’s worth noting that the last time Sony publicized an event of this magnitude, it ended up being for the official reveal of the PlayStation Vita. Considering that rumors have been running rampant lately on next-gen consoles, my best guess is that this very well could end up being a PlayStation 4 reveal. Sony CEO and President Kaz Hirai has already stated publically that the PlayStation 4 console didn’t need to launch ahead of Microsoft’s next Xbox system. However, recent financial troubles and the closure of a few Sony offices may have changed their gameplan moving forward. In any event, gamers everywhere should be excited for all the news thats ahead on the future of both Microsoft and PlayStation consoles. Angry Birds Space once held the record of 50 million downloads in 35 days, but obviously, Temple Run 2 ran past that metric pretty quickly.? Temple Run 2 saw quick success, topping the top of charts on both iOS and Android in a matter of hours. The game was first released on the App Store where it saw?20 million downloads in just four day and was later ported over for Android and Kindle Fire users to enjoy. The Wall Street Journal reports, citing "sources", Sony will unveil the next-generation console and ship it by Christmas 2013. Sony is said to have scheduled the early event to beat Microsoft to its introduction of the Xbox 720. This tactic has been previously rumoured.? In its event teaser, Sony was light on details as to what we might see at the event. Given the Wall Street Journal's reputation and other rumours, their report seems very likely. After the February announcement, several reports have noted that Sony will use the E3 trade show to talk games and keep promoting the console up until Christmas where a bevy of sales are expected.?
