Rockstar Games has finally dropped the release date for the massively anticipated next iteration in their infamous series. Grand Theft Auto V will be heading to a PS3 or Xbox 360 near you on September 17th, 2013.
Your first question might be, “Wait, that’s not Spring.” Kudos to you for noticing. Yes, while it might be Spring here, locally, it is a good few months later than the expected release date of May 2013, and this is because the game is getting some extra polish, according to Rockstar.
“GTAV is a massively ambitious and complete game and it simply needs a little more polish to be of the standard we, and more importantly, you require,” reads the statement on the official blog.
You might be as disappointed as I was, to discover this. After all, Grand Theft Auto games are not a very common occurrence and this next one, when first trailered, brought the internet to an absolute standstill. I will never forget that day. So it’s kind of a big deal, and having to wait a few more months, while completely understandable, does kinda suck.
Still, if it means a more polished and seamless experience then I am all for it.
Cue the BioShock Infinite fans with, “Now you know how we feel.”
September 17th, guys. Book your “sick” leave now.
