Try To Make Sense Of This Injustice Story Trailer

Injustice: Gods Among Us is NetherRealm’s way of making up for the lacklustre affair that was Mortal Kombat vs DC. It’s like 2011′s Mortal Kombat but with all your favourite DC villains and heroes as well as more destructible environments and expansive, multi-level battle grounds for each fight. It’s quite something to behold.

I still don’t like most of the character designs and feel the whole game is a bit odd somehow but the concept is sound and the game looks great. That said these days you need to justify everything whether it be your cocaine addiction or the need to punch a badger for good luck before every job interview. These are painfully specific and possibly personal examples but bear with me, I am going somewhere with this.

So it is that there is some semblance of a plot behind Injustice to explain why Superman is fighting Batman and everybody is fighting everybody else. Well this trailer gives us a teaser of it and from what I can work out. Joker does something, the military gets involved as usual, deus ex machina happens (which is weird because they usually save that for the third act) and suddenly there are two separate factions – one opposing whatever it is the military is doing and one which is siding with the military. Each side seems to comprise a hodgepodge of villains and good guys.

Well that’s what I gleaned but I’m likely wrong. Injustice: Gods Among Us is due out in April for Xbox 360 and PS3.
