Last week Just Cause developers Avalanche posted a rather blurry image that seemed to tease Just Cause 3, with the character in the image seemingly using the iconic grappling hook that gamers have used to break the laws of physics over and over again. Yesterday Avalanche released yet another image which seems to confirm that these teases are all about a new Just Cause title in development.
If you take a quick look at the image below, you’ll immediately recognise the stance as the same one that belongs to Rico Rodriguez, the protagonist in the Just Cause series. Look closer and you’ll notice a grappling hook on his hip, and the fact that he’s free falling just re-enforces the idea of a Just Cause title. Just think about how much time you actually spent on the ground in Just Cause 2.
What’s more interesting is that the photo was posted on Twitter by Avalanche Studios founder Christofer Sundberg, who followed up the photo with a post hash-tagged with #e32013. So, new Just Cause announcement at this year’s E3 seems to be on the table then. Thanks for letting us know a full three and a half months in advance, we were getting worried.
Just Cause 2 was a lot of guilty fun, so I’m pretty excited to see where Rico ends up next. Are you?
