Last year Double Fine started off the video game Kickstarter trend with a bang, last week the title formerly known as Double Fine Adventure was finally revealed to be Broken Age and today they released the debut trailer for the game.

Double Fine has offered a short explanation of the game's story: "The girl has been chosen by her village to be sacrificed to a terrible monster--but she decides to fight back, while the boy lives a solitary life on a spaceship, under the care of a motherly computer, but wants to break free to lead adventures and do good in the world. Adventures ensue."

The art style is certainly striking and definitely lives up to the concepts offered in the original Kickstarter, something which will please the 90,000 people who put money towards the project.

If you head over to the Broken Age website you can pre-order the game for $15, better still if you put down $30 you get the game as well as the official documentary of the games development.

Broken Age has no solid release date, but will be coming out on PC, Mac and Linux eventually.
