The company formerly called RIM, now just BlackBerry, has officially unveiled the BlackBerry Q10 - the new name for the rumoured X10. It's a Qwerty keyboard-touting launch handset for its new BlackBerry 10 operating system.

Looking much like a BlackBerry Bold, but with flat, straight keys rather than a curved design, the Q10 features a 3.1-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen above the keypad with a 720 x 720 pixel resolution (339ppi - 360ppi claimed).

It's powered by a similar dual-core 1.5GHz processor to that of the non-Qwerty?BlackBerry Z10 and also features other internal specs from the same family. There’s 2GB of RAM for starters, and the phone will also work on the UK’s current 4G network, and future LTE spectrum bands being auctioned at present.

It weighs 139g and at 10.3mm is pretty thick for a modern smartphone - but it's not meant to be an iPhone rival.

Few other details are known as yet, but we have heard that the Q10 will be released in April.

Pocket-lint will be bringing you a hands-on with the traditional BlackBerry-style device soon.
