Aliens: Colonial Marines Suddenly Has A Season Pass On Launch Day
Feb 12th 2013, 06:40

Aliens: Colonial Marines release today, bringing a rather extensive and troubled development time to an end. Whether it’s good has yet to be seen. Well, I know already, but I’m only allowed to tell you a bit later today, 11:00 to be exact. Damn suit and ties getting in the way of my review writing.

But while you wait for my rant, why not try and shallow this pill. Aliens: Colonial Marines will have four separate packs of DLC and feature a Season Pass that players can buy to get all four packs at a reduced cost. Nothing new right? Thing is, it’s rather expensive and the first batch of DLC doesn’t exactly seem that worth it.

Coming in March, the first DLC package, title Bug Hunt, will add a new horde-style mode that allows you and some friends to slay some Xeno's in three new maps. And, that’s it. Sounds like something that should’ve been included in the full priced game that’s releasing today, no? It’s a rather standard feature in other titles that choose to implement it, so why make gamers pay extra?

Regardless, that’s what will make up the first of four scheduled DLC packages. Pick up a Season Pass for $29.99 and they’re all yours. Wait, $29.99? Now that’s the same price as the Season Pass for Assassin’s Creed III and Borderlands 2, both of which are delivering much, much more than a horde mode with their DLC releases. What’s going on their SEGA? Have you been spending a little too much time with Capcom lately?

Aliens: Colonial Marines release today on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. Come back for our review at 11:00 sharp.
